We have already received a lot of positive feedback about the renovated entrance area of ​​the Museum of Fine Arts of Karelia, both from the colleagues from the Tretyakov Picture Gallery, the Russian Museum and the Murmansk Regional Art Museum, as well as from our guests and exhibition visitors. Some time ago we shared with you the history of the design project and the concept of the navigation system, told you about how we installed glass and metal structures, furniture modules and etc.
The project designers suggested to use the color solutions to separate the client areas from the administrative wing and employees' offices. Therefore, an important decision in the creation of a navigation system was the preparation and painting the walls in a contrasting color, the movement of electrical wires and the laying of new wiring, the re-hanging of the hall doors in the opposite direction. The task was complicated by the height of the ceiling, that was 6 meters high in the large span of the main staircase. To overcome these difficulties, tall scaffolding and wooden temporary structures were installed in the space of the stairs.

The modernization of the entrance area coincided with the renovation of the whole building, when windows and doors were changed and the facade was painted. Yuri Golub's team had to work in tough conditions and with tight deadlines for the modernization of the hall. It was necessary to adapt in unpredictable conditions and rapid changes of plans, to wait for certain stages of the renovation process connected with other working teams.

The team met all the requirements and fulfilled all the tasks in time!  And we are confident that cooperation with the Museum will certainly continue in the future!
Such modernization of the entrance area and navigation system became possible thanks to the international project KA9021 "Museums in Focus: Development of Cultural Services for Chinese Tourists" (PPP "Karelia" 2014-2020, funded by the European Union, Finland and Russia), aimed at creating museum services and products for Chinese tourists at the regional level.
