Models for art residencies in Petrozavodsk, Sortavala and Kostomuksha are developed.
Art-residency as an Innovative Tool for Territory Development seminar is over. It welcomed over 40 participants from the partner organizations and representatives of the culture and tourism field of Karelia and Finland. Two seminar days were intense with knowledge exchange between art-residency experts and participants, group discussions and dialogue. During the seminar, a common understanding of the art-residency phenomenon was formed. Art-residency is a place that creates artistic and social communications, a practice that empowers positive creative impulses and impressions, artworks and projects, and a technology that expands cultural encounters and improves the quality of life on a particular territory. The participants developed models for art residencies in Petrozavodsk, Sortavala and Kostomuksha in the context of cross-border cooperation, which will become the basis for developing the Karelian art-residency network’s concept.
