KA1029 Innovations, research and education for roads and transport as an engine for growing cross-border business cooperation (IRERT)

The objective of microproject KA1029 is to create prerequisites for the development and launch of educational programs for road industry professionals.

During shot period (1 year) we want  to compare the situation in the road sector of the Republic of Karelia and Finland and understand what knowledge is necessary for road builders of both countries in order to effectively deal with the challenges and problems in the road sector.

 

Project news

Objective: to create prerequisites for the development and launch of educational programs for road industry professionals.

Main ativities:

  • A comparative analysis of the road network of the Republic of Karelia and the border areas of Finland and a recommendation to overcome the identified problems and barriers.
  • Research of mutual influence of a network of roads, economy of territories, business development, road infrastructure, investment attractiveness of territories, their transport accessibility.
  • Identification of educational preferences of the specialists of the road sphere.

Partner on the Russian side-Ministry of road economy, transport and communications of the Republic of Karelia

Partners on the Finnish side are Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency and Centre for economic development, transport and the environment.
