Participants of cross-border cooperation projects share experience
Last week on the Kizhi island, “WasteLess Karelias” project representatives participated in a seminar on solving problems related to the organization of temporary accumulation and separate collection of municipal waste, as well as transportation, further processing or disposal. The seminar was organized within the framework of the SUPER project of the Karelia CBC programme.
The preliminary results of the “SUPER” project were presented and the opinions of experts from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Karelia, governmental body "Karelpriroda", LLC "Avtospetstrans", National Park "Vodlozersky", LLC "Integrated administration, localization and processing of sorted waste" were heard. Administration of Medvezhyegorsk district, Association "North-Center", as well as scientists of the Karelian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences also shared their experiences in waste manageent issues.
Anton Scherbak, “WesteLess Karelia” expert and manager, shared his experience in solving the waste-related problem in rural areas in the Republic of Karelia and in Finland.
