"Museum Routes in Russia" in Petrozavodsk
In May 2021 there was a number of sessions and activities "Museum Routes in Russia"*, organised by the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation. The meeting took place in Petrozavodsk and was devoted to the development of cultural tourism in Russia and cooperation between museums and tourism companies.
Alla Manilova, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Valentina Pivnenko, Deputy of the State Duma, heads of federal museums of Russia and the representatives of tourism industry participated in the meeting.
Within the program Aleksei Lesonen, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Karelia, presented to the participants the results of the project "Museums in Focus: Development of Cultural Services for Chinese Tourists" implemented under the Karelia cross-border cooperation program. He told about modernization of the entrance area, navigation systems, creation of the permanent exhibition dedicated to the Karelian-Finnish epic "Kalevala" in the Museum of Fine Arts of Karelia.
As a part of the cultural program, the participants of the meeting visited the Museum of Fine Arts and were able to get acquainted with the achievements of the project "Museums in Focus".
The next day the museum was visited by representatives of the leading travel companies from Kaliningrad "Amber Cruise" and "Mik-Avia". Natalia Kozlovskaya, Project Manager Assistant, gave a detailed tour and presented new services and products for tourists created within the project.
* The project started in April of this year in Kaluga, in the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky. In the course of its implementation, visiting presentation, exhibition and expert-methodological events are held.
