Kantele-GO! published "Minun kanteleeni" by Anastasia Salo
A new collection of compositions for chromatic kantele "Minun kanteleeni" by Anastasia Salo, the member of the Composers’ Association of Finland and the head of the Composers’ Association of Republic of Karelia, was published by the Kantele-GO! project.
Each of the 31 compositions of the “Minun kanteleeni” collection may be performed as a single piece or as a part of the cycle. As per ethnomusicologist Irina Semakova, every music piece is a story that reflects visions of life of Fennoscandia’s local people and their ability to enjoy the beauty and harmony of Northern nature. It gives the feeling of importance of all aspects of everyday life and tunes for a slow living lifestyle.
“Minun kanteleeni” is addressed to music teachers and students as well as amateur musicians who are planning to play the chromatic kantele. Recommended for publication by the selection committee of the Karelia CBC project KA3100 «Kantele-GO!».
Project partners: The Karelian National Song and Dance Ensemble Kantele (Russia), University of Eastern Finland, Runosong Academy (Finland), National School of Arts named after V. Kalaberda of Pryazha District (Russia).
The Kantele-GO! project is financed by the European Union, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Finland within the framework of the Karelia CBC Programme.
