Creative Business Workshop for Craftsmen in Kostomuksha
Association ECHO and Northern Crafts ID team invite you to take part in the Creative Business Workshop in the city of Kostomuksha entitled “Northern Crafts and Design: A Formula for Success”. The event will take place on September 20 and 21 as a part of the European Cooperation Week, and will aim to inspire entrepreneurial creativity of local craftsmen. The program of the workshop includes a meeting with leading craft designers from Moscow and Murmansk, consultations on the development of craft businesses, a presentation of a live-stream channel and the launch of the second season of the "Shito-Kryto" podcast.
The key event of the workshop will be a business brunch - a meeting of craftsmen and craft entrepreneurs with a designer and design researcher, teacher of the British Higher School of Design Marina Turlay (Moscow).
On the second day, Tatyana Batova, senior lecturer at Murmansk Arctic State University and head of the Arctic Design Laboratory project (Murmansk), will organise a brainstorming session regarding a potential collective brand “Crafts and Design of the North”.
In addition, participants will have a large expert session, where they will be able to present their activities and products to invited experts for their evaluation.
At the end of the event, the director of Association ECHO, Leader of Northern Crafts ID project Svetlana Kolchurina and the project coordinator Alexey Tsykarev will present a new live-stream channel about crafts and the creative economy, and will also launch the second season of the podcast about the hidden meanings of crafts.
For the participants, a cultural and educational programme is provided with a trip to the historical village of Voknavolok, where it will be possible to get acquainted with the work of the House of the Village on the development of handicrafts.
