SUPER project fieldwork start

On June 3 – 8 our team of researchers from KarRC RAS and University of Oulu participated in the reconnaissance expeditions within SUPER project to the Vodlozersky National Park and Kizhi Island.
 In Vodlozersky National Park researchers visited tourist camping site on Rogunovo Island and Ohtoma tourist centre. Moreover, they conducted a primary analysis of the unauthorized dump area near Kuganavolok village. It is necessary to note that now the landfill is closed, the reclamation is planned as well. 
On the territory of Kizhi Island and the surrounding area, the scientists visited several illegal dumps near the villages of Yamka, Oyatevshina, Telyatnikovo, Sennaya Guba and Malcovets Island. There the researchers selected soil, vegetation and water samples for further analysis. 
The SUPER expedition resulted in future working plans and surveys discussion.
