Kalitka project was chosen among the 22 showcased projects for a travelling exhibition dedicated to the Cross-Border Cooperation between the European Union and the Russian Federation. The exhibition was prepared by the EU Delegation to Russia, with the assistance of Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development. The exhibition is mobile and will be in Petrozavodsk until October 3. The presented projects are aimed at protection of environment, development and support of entrepreneurship, restoration of cultural and historical heritage sites, and implementation of infrastructure initiatives. Karelia CBC program has presented 3 projects, including Kalitka. The 'Together' Exhibition will also be available online as part of a joint project with the RBC group of companies. After Petrozavodsk the exhibition will tour in Kaliningrad, Murmansk and St. Petersburg.

Secondly, the results of the project were presented at the V All-Russian Competition for Regional Projects at the Scientific Research Financial Institute of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation in Moscow. 914 projects (12 from Karelia) took part in the competition. The project for the creation of a culinary studio in the village of Megrega (investment part of the Kalitka project) became the winner for the most original project. Administration of the Megregsky rural settlement presented not only the results, but also shared plans for the future development. The culinary studio is already receiving guests, holding master classes and classes with creative team of the village. Travel companies cooperate with the culinary studio and include its visit in their programs.

This summer the film crew of the TV project "Gastrotour" (TV channel "Friday") visited the culinary studio. This fall we are looking forward to TV release about Karelia as a place for the development of gastronomic tourism, including our culinary studio presentation.

A series of training sessions for schoolchildren and preschoolers has started this academic year. Children will be introduced to the history and culture of the region through acquaintance with the national cuisine. For the development of all these initiatives, the project was awarded by the organizers of the competition not only with a diploma, but also with a cash prize, which will be used for the development purposes. We congratulate our partners for their achievement and wish them much more success in the future!
