On March the 3rd, the day before the seminar "CULTURAL TOURISM AND BEST PRACTICES OF LEADING MUSEUMS IN DEVELOPING TOURIST PRODUCTS FOR CHINESE TRAVELERS" the leading experts from Moscow visited the Museum of Karelia.

Anna Sibirkina, Deputy Executive Director of Travel Association "World Without Borders", Head of the Program China Friendly, and Anna Bessmertnaya, Director of humanitarian cooperation programs of the Russian-Chinese Analytical Center, arrived in Petrozavodsk for the first time.

The colleagues got acquainted with the Museum of Fine Arts of Karelia. They had an excursion around all the expositions and a work-shop in silk-screen printing, within which they created a souvenir - a linen bag with a traditional symbol used in Karelian embroidery. They chose the symbols “Birds of Happiness” and “Tree of Life” to imitate Karelian embroidery on the bag, which were often used to decorate household items (towels, valances, etc.).

After the cultural program, a press meeting was organized so that the Karelian mass-media could communicate with experts.

The project manager - Tatyana Saltykova and the assistant - Natalya Kozlovskaya acquainted the experts with the plans of the project “Museums in focus: the development of cultural services for Chinese tourists” and discussed possible ways of cooperation.
