Big Music for Small Cities_CD coming soon

In June, the Symphony Orchestra of the Karelian State Philharmonic conducted an audio recording within the framework of the Big Music for Small Cities project. And already now the organizers of the project have received a finished master copy of the CD.

The new recording equipment acquired under the project made it possible to implement the work on audio recording within the Philharmonic stage. To implement the idea, an authoritative expert was invited - Studio director, laureate of the International Prize "Pure Sound" in the nomination "For the best audio recording of a concert for a solo instrument with an orchestra", 2019.

The program of the album included musical pieces commissioned specially for the project: the KARELIA SUITE by Ilya Kuznetsov, Pavel Karmanov and Alexey Kurbatov, Nixus by Cecilia Damström, and symphonic classics: the Hebrides overture by Felix Mendelssohn and the musical picture Night on Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky.

The disc will be replicated in the amount of 300 copies for free distribution. By now, the design visualization of the CD has already been created.

In September, within the framework of the European Cooperation Day list of Karelia CBC Programme events, a presentation of the CD "Big Music for Small Cities" is planned, where the project creators will share their impressions of the work done and their plans for future. It will be interesting!
